Welcome to Port Pups. My name is Kim. Port Pups started in 2022 in Newburyport, although I recently moved to Ipswich with my rescue, Ollie. I worked in the world of education for 23 years but decided it was time for a change. I have had a love for animals, especially dogs, my entire life. I have volunteered with a local dog rescue for over 4 years. I have also done dog walking and in home pet sitting in my spare time. Letters of recommendation and references are available upon request.
While caring for your pup(s), I am committed to giving them all the love and attention they need. I will care for them as if they were my own. I am an active person and enjoy being outdoors walking and jogging. Whatever your pup needs, he/she will get with me. Exercise, meals, medicine, snuggles, and love! I'm happy to come by for a meet and greet free of charge. I look forward to meeting you and your fur-baby!

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can you give my dog medication?
A: Yes. I can give medication orally or through injection.
Q: Will you take my dog for an off leash walk?
A: Yes. As long as your dog has had off leash training and once he/she becomes familiar and comfortable with me, I will take them for off leash walks.
Q: Do you have experience with dogs with anxiety?
A: Yes. One of my own dogs suffers from anxiety in certain situations. I am a patient person and will do whatever works best to help your dog in anxious situations.
Q: Besides walking my dog, what kinds of activities do you do with them?
A: I take dogs walking, jogging or hiking. I also do whatever activities your dog enjoys at home...playing fetch, tug of war, and games/puzzles to stimulate your dog mentally.
Q: Are you familiar with the local veterinarian offices in the area?
A: Yes. My own dogs have gone to Newbury Animal Hospital and Newburyport Veterinary Clinic. I also have experience with Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital and VECC in New Hampshire for urgent after hours care.
Q: Are your rates the same if I have multiple dogs in my household that need care?
A: There is an additional $5 added to the price for each dog in the household.
Q: Do you have a cancellation policy?
A: Yes. If you need to cancel a service, I ask that you give me at least 24 hours notice for an overnight stay. Please give at least 3 hours notice for a scheduled walk. You may be charged 50% of the service cost for last minute cancellations.
Q: What forms of payment do you take for services I schedule?
A: You can pay with cash, check, or Venmo.
Q: If I live outside your area, can I still schedule dog walking and in home pet sitting?
